Microsoft brings smaller taskbar icons to Windows 11

Microsoft has made many changes to the Windows 11 taskbar, but there is still room for improvement. Despite the big Windows 11 2024 update that was just released and all the cool features and improvements in this update, Microsoft is already looking forward to the next update and what not. that we will bring.

As noticed by Twitter user @phantomofearth and reported by Windows Latest, an upcoming version of Windows 11, currently available only to Insiders on the beta channel, shows that it will be possible to change the size of elements from the taskbar.

In the latest Windows 11 beta, there is a new toggle in the Taskbar section of Windows Settings that lets you Show small taskbar buttons with options for Always, Never, and When the taskbar is full. (As of this writing, the setting does not entirely work as expected.)

This particular option already existed in Windows 10 but was removed for unknown reasons when Windows 11 launched. It’s a great way to reclaim a little more screen real estate, so a welcome change.

If you’re not a Windows Insider, you can expect this feature to be released to the general public in November or December.
