Great British Bake Off’s Sandi Toksvig didn’t enjoy doing the show

Sandi Toksvig is depressed by the time spent on The Great British Pastry.

The comedian said he hosts the Love Productions competition series, known as The Great British Pastry Show on Netflix in the United States, represented the longest years of his life.

Toksvig said London weather that she was well paid for her role in Bakebut had to leave the series in 2020 for his own happiness.

Toksvig was a key ingredient in Baking smooth transition from the BBC to Channel 4 in 2017. She was replaced by Matt Lucas, who in turn was replaced by Alison Hammond.

“Three of the longest years of my life,” Toksvig said of his time on the show. “I gave up the biggest paycheck of my life, but that’s okay. I had never watched it. I still haven’t watched it. I didn’t understand it.

“Cakes are easily available in stores. I didn’t enjoy the process. You stand at the end of a long table for hours while Prue and Paul taste everything and we literally haven’t spoken or tasted anything. I said, “Can’t we sit down?” I don’t contribute, but no.

When asked if she remained friends with her co-hosts, Toksvig said she was “joined at the hip” with Prue Leith, but was not in contact with Paul Hollywood and Noel Fielding .

This is not the first time that Toksvig has been pessimistic about his experience. Earlier this year she said Radio times: “I left Bake because I stopped having fun. I was literally standing there watching the meringues dry and thinking, “Oh my God, my brain is atrophying.” »
