CATS bus investigation underway after suspect brings gun on bus

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An investigation is underway after an individual in mental distress allegedly forced himself onto a CATS while brandishing a gun on Sunday.

Police say the incident happened overnight on East Trade Street.

No injuries were reported. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

CMPD ensured that the suspect received the necessary help and care. The suspect will be charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and second-degree kidnapping.
