Members of the Bishop Overs Guild of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold a silent and live auction on Friday, Oct. 18 at Undercroft, 410 N. Main St., Jamestown.

Doors open at 6pm. All proceeds from the event will support the next phase of the porch repair capital project. This event is open to the public.

Tickets are $50 per person and include drinks, appetizers and entry to the silent and live auction. To register for the event or make a donation, visit the São Lucas website at forms.gle/SLGwe8hAEkygKgFeA. Patron tickets are also available at the door the night of the event. Registration is at 6pm, silent auction tables are open from 6pm to 6:50pm and the live auction begins at 7pm.

Participants will have the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of items, including a two-week stay in North Carolina, High Tea at St. Luke’s Front Porch for six, Buffalo Bills tickets to see the New England Patriots, three days at Findley Lake, home chef experience, gift basket with Penn State tickets, Harbor Hotel overnight package, New York City themed prints, afternoon tea prepared by Englishman Ian Earthy, afternoon hike/photography at nature with Reverend Luke Fodor, drive a monster Bulldozer, sailboat cruise on Lake Chautauqua with drinks, Buffalo Bills basket, Buffalo Bills jersey signed by Andre Reed, themed spin class for up to 10 people, Buffalo Bills Paint and Sip and much more.

“We are thrilled to host this fun-filled evening,” said Catherine Johnner, committee chair. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, have fun and support renovations to our historic building. We have been blessed by the generosity of our donors, area businesses and volunteers, and we hope to see a great turnout.”

Money raised from the auction will go toward renovating the porch, the next phase of St. Luke’s capital campaign project to preserve the structure of the historic building. The 170-year-old church is a rock-faced Medina sandstone structure that combines elements of the Late Gothic Revival and Romanesque Revival. The church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

“Public dollars allocated to help preserve buildings like St. Luke’s are very expensive because it’s not just our building, it’s the city’s building,” Fodor said. “What I love is that all the buildings in this city are not owned by any one individual. They are our buildings and create a sense of place.”
