All-Pro Saints WR set for knee meniscus surgery

The New Orleans Saints are set to receive yet another devastating blow on the offensive side of the ball, with wide receiver Rashid Shaheed scheduled to undergo meniscus surgery before tomorrow’s game against the Denver Broncos.

Shaheed, who made one explosive play after another, including a 54-yard punt touchdown last week, was injured late in the fourth quarter last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It has been reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Shaheed’s availability for the rest of this season will be determined during his surgery. Whether Shaheed will need a full knee repair or just a cut is up to him whether his season is over.

Shaheed will head to Los Angeles for his procedure tomorrow, which means we’ll likely be updated on the status in the coming days. However, it’s a huge success for an already depleted receiver room, with Chris Olave also suffering a concussion this week.
