Telangana school teacher caught beating student mercilessly, parents demand action

A Telangana teacher was caught on camera beating a student several times in front of his colleagues. The teacher at Manasa Vikasa School in Gollagudem, Telangana, can be seen mercilessly beating a student in CCTV footage and dragging him on the floor, NDTV reported.

In the video, the student can be seen standing in the hallway of a classroom, while the teacher approaches him, spanks him and then slaps him hard on the back.

Later, the student’s parents went to the school and demanded action against the teacher. They also started crying when they saw the video of the teacher beating her son for no reason. An investigation has been launched into the incident, the report added.

In a similar incident a few days ago, a teacher at a school in Pune’s Maharashinagar area was caught beating a Class 6 student at a private school after he failed to tuck in his shirt. The Pune police have registered a case against a teacher, an official told PTI.

Based on a complaint from the boy’s father, a case was registered at Swargate police station under section 115 (2) (Voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 (Care and Protection of Children), the report added. The boy suffered injuries and was bleeding.
