Netanyahu says Israel ready to ‘stand alone’ in face of US threat

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday his country was prepared to “stand alone” in its war against Gaza after Washington pledged to stop supplying certain weapons if a threatened assault on Rafah continued.

“If we have to be alone, we will be alone,” Netanyahu said.

His latest comment comes after US President Joe Biden warned in an interview with CNN On Wednesday, he would stop some U.S. arms deliveries to Israel if it pursues a large-scale attack on Rafah, a town in southern Gaza where the United Nations says some 1.4 million people are sheltering.

The United States has provided Israel with full support, including munitions, throughout the war on Gaza, despite huge protests against the policy at home.
