SCCPSS Board of Trustees Approves Funds for New Weight Room Equipment at 7 High Schools

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Many Savannah public high schools are receiving funding for new weight room equipment. The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) Board of Trustees approved $560,000 at the May 8 board meeting.

The agenda item states that this is a transfer between funds. The athletic department is requesting increased funding to upgrade existing weight room equipment. The agenda item then states: “No funds are allocated for the replacement of this equipment. »

Schools benefiting from this approved measure are Beach, Islands, Johnson, Windsor Forest, New Hampstead, Savannah Arts and Savannah High School.

As for Groves, Jenkins and Woodville-Tompkins, they have new equipment from their recent construction, according to the agenda item.
