“Dear Hippie” – Lainey Wilson Teases New Song Inspired by Her Dog, Hippie Mae

Lainey Wilson is so real for that.

The country star announced his next album Whirlwind earlier this week, and I can’t wait to hear all the new music.

Her recent song “Country’s Cool Again” will be included on the 14-song tracklist, but other than that, we haven’t heard much in the way of teasers or new music from the Louisiana native, although she’s done a ton of artist features on other songs. She released her Grammy-winning album Land below the bell album in 2022, and of course, had a pretty stupid year or two that kept her very busy.

But another new song appears to be coming soon, as Lainey earlier shared a teaser on Instagram of a video of her writing a letter to her dog, Hippie Mae, who she hadn’t seen in about a month until recently because Lainey was on tour across the pond.

She shared the video with a caption that read:

“Dear Hippie…”

Plus, she added the “wink” emoji, which definitely means Lainey has something up her sleeve…you can also hear a snippet of the new rock song, where I heard guitar chords heavy, if you watch until the end. :

And speaking of everything Lainey has accomplished over the past two years, the Louisiana native recently scored her seventh $1 hit at country radio with “Wild Flowers and Wild Horses” and plans to open a bar in downtown Nashville, Bell from bottom to topthis summer too, at the same time as the release of the new album.

Stay tuned…
