Glen Eden murder: Man charged in West Auckland woman’s death

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in the west Auckland suburb of Glen Eden

Police were called to a property on Brandon Street just after 11pm on Sunday to find a woman who had been stabbed multiple times.

She was taken to hospital, but died a short time later.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kim Libby from Waitemata CIB said a 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.

He will appear in the Waitākere District Court on Monday.

Police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death.

The cordons remained in place and a local investigation was underway, Libby said.

“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area while investigations are conducted, but we do not believe there is an ongoing risk to the public.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and we are offering them support at this tragic time.”
