Reward offered for unsolved murder of Kansas couple

LABETTE COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Labette County Sheriff’s Office have since been investigating the murders of Jason M. Bakken, 39, and Leanda R. Pound, 43, of Mound Valley , Kansas. they were discovered deceased in October 2022.

Gov. Laura Kelly issued an executive order offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who provides investigators with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the killings.

Bakken and Pound were found by a friend on October 3, 2022, shot to death in their home at 693 16000 Rd., in Mound Valley. Investigators believe the murders may have occurred up to a month before they were discovered.
