The ‘silent minority’ within the Republican Party wants nothing to do with Trump

Alyssa Farah Griffin told her co-hosts on ABC’s “The View” on Monday that there is a “silent minority” within the Republican Party of about 15 percent who don’t want former President Donald Trump is their presidential candidate.

Farah Griffin said: “Can I offer a little hope here and while I preface this I say that I am very concerned about the next five months. I think there’s a discourse around the political violence that we’ve seen. We know that Donald Trump’s words led to actions like those of January 6. The comments he made this weekend scare me, but deep down I suspect that a criminal conviction will not help him win the general election, and the data now shows us that it will. the case.”

She added: “A morning advisory poll found that 49% of independents and 15% of Republicans said Trump should end his campaign because of his criminal conviction. Not just saying they don’t support it. He should be out, he’s not eligible. This models what we saw in the Republican primaries, where about 15-20% of Republicans voted to protest him. There is this silent minority within the Republican Party that says they want nothing to do with him.”

Farah Griffin added: “There’s all this MAGA propaganda and all this right-wing propaganda that says ‘He raised so much money that it guarantees him the presidency.’ I’m sorry, find me, the undecided voter about Trump and Biden was saying, “You know, what got me on edge was the discreet payment of money to a porn star that led to to a criminal conviction.” There is no such thing.
