Disney Superfan Reveals Controversial Reason Park Staff May Enter Your Hotel Room Without Permission

A TikToker has revealed why Disney is doing mandatory daily “checks” in every room at its resorts, but it has left people divided.

When you go on vacation and stay in a hotel, you’re probably used to the idea of a housekeeper coming to clean your room, although when you hang a “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door, you’re used to it . clear direction. However, at Disney resorts, it’s apparently a different story.

The Disney superfan and TikToker, known as The Mouselets, took to his platform on Tuesday (June 11) to raise awareness about “room checks” that take place at resorts and that “you probably need to know about if you’re staying on the spot “. .

They explain: “Every day, in every room, Disney does a room audit.

“It’s not related to the household or anything, it’s separate.”

But if it’s not a housekeeping or room related issue, what is the check for?

Well, the TikToker explains that the Disney staff member comes into your room “just to make sure everything is safe and nothing suspicious is going on.”

But that doesn’t always mean it’s a reassuring experience.

Indeed, on the Touring Plans blog, in an article posted online on March 1, 2024, a user explains that room checks take place whether you want them to or not.

The blog explains: “Room checks are usually not a problem: a staff member knocks on your door, you open the door, they take a look around your room (sometimes also emptying your trash or delivering towels, but not always), and then they leave. But there are situations where a room check seems unwelcome or intrusive.

“This may include times when you or a child are napping, when a minor is left alone in the room, when you are undressed, or when participating in adult activities. Even if you have a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign “at your door and even if you ignore the room control, they will come in.”

TikToker The Mouselets added that they also experienced “unfortunate” room checks, like when she was “in a meeting” when someone knocked on the door and came in, another time when she was taking a shower at noon and had to lob. on a bathrobe.

They admit that people with young children who nap may have difficulty with room checks, but advise that what you can do is go to a park’s reception and try to request a check check out a little earlier or later.

Despite the embarrassment, their super fans note that they “fully support” bedroom checks, however, not everyone agrees.

One TikToker said: “This is something that should be done while cleaning is in the room, a separate check is intrusive. »

“I canceled my reservation SO QUICK. This is definitely a deal breaker. What if you’re a full-time adult?! Absolutely not,” another added.

A third commented: “As someone who works in a hotel, the room checks are SO inappropriate and inhospitable and I would never stay in a place that does that. »

And a fourth wrote: “It gives a summer camp vibe. I’m not a kid. If I buy a hotel room/cruise ship room I expect it to be treated as my property for the duration of my purchase.
