Reward offered for information leading to arrest after Broward jogger seriously injured in hit-and-run

MIRAMAR, Florida. – A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest after police say a 26-year-old woman fell into a coma following a hit-and-run while jogging in Miramar ago a few months.

Onyxia Delinois was heard in the background crying in pain while members of her running group were on the phone with 911 following the incident near the 800 block of Miramar Parkway on April 6.

“She’s bleeding from her head and has a lot of bruising,” the caller said.

Dr. Andrew Rosenthal of Memorial Regional Hospital told Local 10 News in April that Delinois was placed in a coma after suffering severe head trauma and undergoing emergency brain surgery.

A flyer from Broward Crime Stoppers says Delinois “was seriously injured in the accident.”

Delinois’ husband, Roosevelt Delinois, asked for the public’s help in finding the driver who didn’t stop to help her and didn’t call police after he hit her.

“If you could talk to your wife, what would you say?” » Local 10 News reporter Rosh Lowe asked Roosevelt Delinois in April.

“I would say I love her, I support her and I’m here,” he replied. “I’m fighting for her.”

Onyxia Delinois served in the U.S. Air Force reserves and owns an insurance agency in Sunrise.

She was running in front of a group of joggers, who found her injured after the driver left the road, hit her and fled around 7 a.m. that day, according to police.

Police are still searching for the responsible driver.

“We’re looking for a vehicle that might have actual damage to the front or side,” Miramar Police Officer Jose Rosales told Local 10 News in April.

Anyone with information leading to an arrest can receive a reward of up to $5,000 by calling Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help the family with hospital costs and Onyxia Delinois won the “most important race of her life.” This page can be found by clicking here.
