“Loktantra or futantra”: the influence of Congress leaders after the cancellation of the UGC-NET by the NTA

The National Testing Agency announced last night, June 19, the cancellation of India’s largest research exam, UGC-NET, which was held the day before, June 18. The cancellation was made on the grounds that “the integrity of the exam could have been compromised”.

After the cancellation frenzy, several reactions have been pouring in from aspiring students, student unions and even opposition leaders, regarding the compromising of the integrity of India’s apex examination.

Several Congress leaders reacted to the cancellation of the UGC-NET by lashing out at the Centre, accusing it of not being able to conduct a regular review.

Congress leader Ajay Upadhyay reacted: “The NEET scam is yet to be resolved, and suddenly the NTA announced the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam. It is now clear that this is not the National Testing Agency, but the “National Testing Agency”. Fail Agency’. She continually plays with the students. It became a paper leak agency. The government should take strict action against this.

Attacking the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), another Congress spokesperson from Lucknow said, “BJP governments are elected by ‘loktantra’ or ‘leaktantra’? paper leak and instructed the CBI to investigate the matter. This government cannot even run a newspaper. How will he run a country? »

More than 10 lakh students appeared for the UGC-NET exam, which is conducted for assistant professorships in universities and colleges and to determine eligibility for junior research fellowships.

On June 19, the University Grants Commission (UGC) received information from the National Cybercrime Threat Analysis Unit of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Early reports suggest the exam may have been compromised.

In response, the Ministry of Education has decided to cancel the June 2024 UGC-NET exam in order to “maintain transparency and integrity.” A new exam will be scheduled, details of which will be announced separately.”

The case has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation, a PIB statement said.
