Ohio State offers ’25 WR Preston Bowman in-state who committed to UK

It appears that Ohio State’s football depth chart scares away more than a few of its top 2025 targets, particularly at wide receiver.

The Buckeyes have commitments from Quincy Porter, De’Zie Jones and Bodpegn Miller, but the coaching staff was looking to add one or two more elite players to join them. It doesn’t appear that’s the case at the moment, as on Sunday they offered wide receiver Preston Bowman, currently committed to Kentucky.

The Pickerington North product stands 6 feet tall and weighs 190 pounds, and is ranked as the No. 1,242 player and 179th wide receiver in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

While his recruiting ranking may not be very high at all, if Ohio State makes an offer, particularly at wide receiver, you know it’s going for a very good player. It remains to be seen what impact the scholarship will have on Bowman.

This report from 247Sports Allan Trieu makes it seem like he’s firm with the Wildcats, but an offer from Ohio State is usually a game-changer.
