This is the shocking moment a driver shouts ‘what’s happening?’ » while being arrested for ramming a car into a busy McDonald’s.

A 31-year-old man driving a white Vauxhall Astra crashed into a Doncaster fast food restaurant on Saturday evening, leaving a customer fighting for his life.

Terrifying footage from the scene shows a mass of emergency services surrounding Maccies after the car crashed into the building and got stuck in the seating area.

The man in the vehicle appeared to be in distress, with blood streaming down his face as officers attempted to remove him through the driver’s side door.

As an officer grabs his wrist, the man shouts, “What’s happening?” What is going on ? What is going on ?

A 37-year-old man, who was apparently eating at the McDonald’s at the time, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

South Yorkshire Police rushed to the scene at around 4pm on Saturday along with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and medics.

The 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The police evacuated the McDonald’s as a safety measure.

In a statement, the force said: “We were called at around 4pm on Saturday June 22 to reports of a road traffic collision at McDonald’s on Thorne Road, Doncaster.

“It appears a white Vauxhall Astra collided with the side of the restaurant building.

“Officers attended the scene, supported by officers from British Transport Police as well as the fire service and ambulance.

“McDonald’s was evacuated as a safety measure.

“A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

“A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital where his injuries were not life-threatening.

“We are asking people to avoid the area while emergency services do their work.”
