Find out how the world goes silent in the horror prequel arriving this week – Punch Drunk Critics

A quiet place: first day arrives in just three days, and for some reason Paramount feels it just needs one more trailer. Like it’s an eye-sore franchise or something, and not a franchise with two very successful horror hits under its belt. To me, this suggests a lack of confidence in the film, but we’ll find out soon enough.

A prequel taking us back to the alien invasion that silenced the world, the film stars Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou who reprises his role as A Quiet Place, Part II as a man on the island, before even arriving on said island.

The film is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, known for the acclaimed drama Pig. He developed the story with John Krasinski, who directed the first two films and is the shepherd of this franchise. A third film featuring the original characters will also be released in 2025, again directed by Krasinski. Combined, the previous two films grossed $638 million, so there’s good reason to find new ways to keep it alive.

A quiet place: first day hits theaters on June 28.
