Juvenile injured in N. Charleston apartment shooting, police say

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – A young girl was shot Monday afternoon at an apartment complex in North Charleston, according to police.

Officers went to the Greentree North Apartments around 4:45 p.m. for reports of gunshots being heard, said Have Jacobs, a spokeswoman for the North Charleston Police Department.

Witnesses told police that a minor had been shot when they arrived. An initial investigation revealed that two suspects were arguing and began shooting at each other.

Investigators believe the juvenile was caught in the crossfire and was not involved in the altercation. She was taken to hospital by emergency services and is in stable condition.

Police are currently canvassing the area for witnesses and searching for the suspects.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, according to Jacobs.
