What to expect at this weekend’s Morro Bay Marine Swap Meet

The Morro Bay Marine Swap Meet will be held in the Maritime Museum parking lot this Saturday, June 29.

The event is hosted by the Friends of the Morro Bay Harbor Department, the Morro Bay Maritime Museum and the Morro Bay Youth Sailing Foundation and gives community members the opportunity to buy and sell marine-related items at a reduced price. There will be around forty sellers.

“You’ll have items as large as a sailboat, kayaks, fishing lures, scuba gear, surfboards, anything related to the sea,” said Bill Luffee, president of the Friends department. from Morro Bay Harbor.

Proceeds from the event will directly support three local nonprofit organizations that give back to the Morro Bay community.

“Major proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Morro Bay Harbor Department. What we do, our mission, is to provide additional funding for port needs that are not met in the traditional budget that the port department has,” Luffee said.
