Klopp sought for new role

Former Premier League star Tim Howard believes he can convince Jurgen Klopp to become the next US national team manager.

In an article for the Daily Mail, he wrote: “After the disappointment of the Copa America, after the USA’s defeat against Uruguay and their elimination in the group stage, I will personally be flying to Spain. I really mean it.”

“I know Klopp has only been retired for a few weeks and I know he wants a break. But if we sat around his villa in Spain, I think I could lure him here. 100 per cent.

“The money is certainly there. So my argument would be simple: he has a group of young players who can play progressive, attacking football, just like his Liverpool teams. And in two years’ time he could be in the biggest World Cup in history.”

Vivianne Miedema has hailed her stunning move to Manchester City as “the best move” for her after joining the WSL giants as a free agent.

And the former Arsenal star, 27, is hoping his best years on the pitch are yet to come after sealing a three-year move to the Cityzens.

His contract with his new club will run until the summer of 2027.

In an interview with Manchester City’s website, Miedema said: “When I first heard that Manchester City were interested, I thought, ‘Ooh, that’s really interesting.’

“It’s one of the clubs I’ve always followed to make sure they’re doing well.

“I’ve been following their progress and with those two points and the way they play football in the WSL, it was ultimately a pretty easy choice for me.”

And it is believed Chiesa could be available for just £20million.
