Trump Caught Lying Again – ‘I Don’t Know About Project 2025’ – And There Are Receipts

Project 2025 — the Republicans’ 900-page plan to burn down the federal government, impose Christian nationalist policies on the nation, and expand Donald Trump’s presidential powers if he wins a second term — is an electoral disaster.

The more voters learn, the more they reject it.

That’s why Trump said on social media Friday: “I don’t know anything about Project 2025. I have no idea who’s behind it. I don’t agree with some of the things they say, and some of it is absolutely ridiculous and appalling. Whatever they do, I wish them well, but I have nothing to do with them.”

The 2025 project would implement conservative and Christian nationalist policies on climate change, LGBTQ+ communities, abortion, foreign aid, education, health care, taxes, and more. Few, if any, aspects of American society would be exempt.

Trump was immediately called out for his lie, and mocked for saying he disagreed with an agenda he knew nothing about.

The Biden campaign released a video of Trump shaking hands with Project 2025 mastermind Kevin Roberts, president of the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation, who Trump said “does incredible work.”

The campaign released another video that shows “Trump’s press secretary (Karoline Leavitt) literally starring in Project 2025 ads.”

The campaign also noted that “John McEntee, Trump’s top aide and former housekeeper, is… behind the 2025 project.”

Further evidence: Trump’s Super PAC is running ads encouraging voters to “learn more about Trump’s 2025 Project,” and the Trump campaign has tapped 2025 Project leader Russ Vought to co-chair the RNC Platform Committee.

On Tuesday, Roberts alluded to political violence, saying the country was in the midst of a “second American revolution” that would not shed blood “if the left allows it.” In an interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, Roberts added that Republicans were “taking this country back.”

Democrats are “in apoplectic mood right now” because the right is winning, Roberts told a guest as Bannon serves a four-month prison sentence. “So I’m coming full circle with that answer and I just want to encourage you with a little bit of substance by saying that we are in the midst of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

Olivia Troye, a former adviser to Vice President Mike Pence, pointed out that many of the people involved in Project 2025 are part of Trump’s inner circle and the Republican Party: “So, yes, Donald Trump is doing his usual tap dance – Project 2025? Project what? Project who? I never knew her. She’s the girl/boy in the coffee shop. I don’t know what that is… no, I don’t…” Yet several members of his cabinet and senior administration officials who served under his presidency are directly involved in the project.
