The Russell County Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation, has announced the creation of the Bronco Vocational Training Fund.

This generous gift, provided by longtime foundation donor Nancy Holland, is sure to enhance vocational education at Russell Junior-Senior High School and $407.

The Bronco Career Education Fund is designed to support the advancement of career education by providing financial assistance for the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies essential to the training of students in Kansas Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway programs. In addition, the fund will also support the professional development of career education teachers, ensuring they have access to the latest training and resources needed to deliver high-quality education.

“This fund is possible because of the generous gift of Nancy Holland, who has made her charitable legacy an investment in the education of Russell County students. Her gift, and that of others who wish to contribute to the fund, will provide $407 in annual income to help students graduate and prepare for careers. The endowment is a legacy that will impact generations to come. We are excited to work with donors like Nancy and other community members who want to ensure that what matters most to Russell County continues,” said Angela Muller, RCACF Executive Director.

Led by Russell Junior-Senior High School and USD 407, the Bronco Vocational Training Fund grant funding guidelines include: Equipment Funding – Grants may be used to purchase modern equipment that supports vocational training programs, ensuring students have access to cutting-edge tools and technology; Materials and Supplies – Financial support for essential materials and supplies will enhance the hands-on learning experience, preparing students for real-world careers; and Teacher Development – Investment in professional development for vocational teachers will include workshops, certifications, and other educational opportunities to keep educators at the forefront of vocational training.

“The creation of the Bronco Vocational Training Fund is a huge step forward in the sustainability and expansion of CTE (vocational) programs at Russell Junior-Senior High School. This permanent fund will allow us to have the supplies we need to maintain programs, put equipment on a rotating replacement plan and chart a course to expand or create new programs. I am very grateful for the foresight of our donor in making this possible,” said USD 407 teacher Kevin Flegler.

The Bronco Career Training Fund is a great example of how forward-thinking philanthropy can play a vital role in community progress and educational excellence. Anyone can donate to the new fund, and donations are tax-deductible. If you would like to make a donation, contact the RCACF at 785-445-3611 or donate by credit card at www.rcacf.org.

The Russell County Area Community Foundation was founded in 2001 and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents of the Russell County area by encouraging philanthropy and providing a vehicle for donors to support their charitable interests.
