Government’s silence on ‘Chinese infiltration’ is dangerous, says Priyanka

New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday expressed concern over the alleged “Chinese infiltration” and said the silence maintained by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government on the issue was dangerous.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on microblogging site X that reports indicate that while continuing its infiltration activities in Arunachal Pradesh, China is now also building bunkers in the Ladakh region.

There were 65 patrol points on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), of which 26 were captured, Vadra said.

She said, “China has set up its villages on Indian territory and is also building bunkers. Nearly 4,000 square kilometres of Indian land has been conquered by China and the country has released a list of 30 places in Arunachal Pradesh whose names have been changed.”

“We have lost 26 of our 65 patrol points on the LAC. The media is saying all this and this information is available to the public. But Prime Minister Modi continues to say that no one has entered,” she said.

The Congress leader asked the Prime Minister: “Under what pressure is the Modi government making so many compromises regarding the security and integrity of India’s borders?”

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday raised the issue of Chinese infiltration, saying, “China continues to be belligerent by occupying our territory and building a military base in Sirijap, a land allegedly under Indian control?”

Kharge said the Congress demands that the nation be given confidence on the LAC situation.
