Nagpur: Elderly man dies after being hit by speeding bus

The incident happened at 8:30am on Monday. CCTV footage shows the speeding school bus hitting the 60-year-old man from behind and crushing him after he lost control of his bike and fell onto the road.

The deceased, identified as Ratnakar Dixit, was heading from Chhota Tajbagh to Tukdoji Chowk when he was hit by the bus and later succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, in another hit-and-run case, a 23-year-old man was killed after an unidentified vehicle knocked him down in Nagpur city.

The accident took place around 11:20 pm on Sunday on the Katol bypass. There was no CCTV near the accident site, PTI reported.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Khairwar, a native of Madhya Pradesh, the official said. A complaint has been lodged against an unidentified person and an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
