Ephraim McDowell Health Foundation to Hold Silent Auction in 2024

The carefully selected auction items reflect the generosity of our community, as they were all donated to support the foundation’s mission to advance health care initiatives in Ephraim McDowell’s six counties: Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Lincoln, Mercer and Washington County, Kentucky.

The objects on offer can be viewed online until August 3, or in person at the Luminosity in Paris Gala, the foundation’s flagship event.

This year’s gala will be held at Centre College in the Roush Campus Center on August 3 from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. The event is a tribute to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. Tickets, event information and a full list of sponsors are available at emheath.org.

For the first time, the foundation has combined the efforts of Luminosity and Chaplains Fund to create a hopefully greater impact for the people we serve.

All funds raised through these efforts go to the Charitable Fund, an unrestricted fund dedicated to areas where the need is greatest. This year alone, the Charitable Fund contributed nearly $130,000 to various health-related services. Notable contributions include:

  • $40,000 to provide all public high schools and middle schools in our service area with their choice of mental health or substance abuse programs.
  • $1,225 for maternity care and education for new and expectant mothers.
  • Free membership to the McDowell Wellness Center for EMH cancer survivors.
  • $1,500 to support graduation projects in all high schools in the region, to promote safe and sober graduation projects.
  • $30,000 in funding for Kids Can Do Pediatric Therapy Center for Camp Can Do, Camp Healthy Kids, an orthopedic shoe and adaptive bike program that allows children of all abilities to participate, leading to a better quality of life and better health.
  • Through our Chaplains Fund, $26,155 was awarded to Ephraim McDowell Health patients who could not afford care, prescriptions and/or medical equipment.
  • $10,388 was awarded to Ephraim McDowell Health Associates, through our Associates FIRST Fund, to provide support during difficult times. Our commitment to Associates allows them to serve our patients in the best way possible.

As the flagship event of the Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation, the gala and auction are more than just an event for personal enjoyment—they are an opportunity to make a difference. By supporting a Gold Medal donor, you are directly funding life-changing projects that improve health care for all. Together, let’s light the torch for a brighter, healthier future.

Special thanks to our partners Farmers National Bank and Danville Office Equipment.
