A young couple jumped off the Jogmandi railway bridge in Pali after seeing the train approaching them. The couple was injured and is undergoing treatment.

Rahul Mewada (22) and his wife Jhanvi (20), residents of Hariamali near Sojat Road, came to visit Goram Ghat. They were walking on the metre gauge railway track of Jogmandi Bridge when suddenly a Marwar passenger train from Kamlighat station approached.

However, the train was moving slowly and stopped on the bridge, but by that time the couple had jumped off. Two of their relatives were also present near the bridge, but they were not on the track. They were taking pictures and videos while Rahul and Jhanvi were walking on the track.

Couple jumps off bridge in Rajasthan

A video of the couple jumping off the bridge, captured on the parent’s mobile phone at the time of the incident, has also surfaced. The train driver and guard came down from the bridge and rescued the couple, who were seriously injured.

They were taken to Phulad railway station, where they were taken by ambulance to a hospital. Jhanvi was admitted to a hospital in Pali and Rahul was admitted to AIIMS in Jodhpur.
