Horrific footage has emerged showing a group of teenagers attacking a food delivery man moments after he left a McDonald’s with bags of food in his hands.

The man was attacked by at least five teenagers outside the restaurant in Melbourne’s Southbank while one of their friends filmed, the Herald Sun reported.

The youths were seen kicking the driver as he walked backwards and tried to defend himself as food spilled from his bag.

The teenagers quickly surrounded the driver and threw him to the ground before one of them repeatedly stamped on his head, while two others kicked him in the body.

The delivery man managed to get up before being pulled from behind again.

He was repeatedly hit on the head, kicked and punched.

Incredibly, the delivery man stood up, still holding his bag in his hand.

He was seen trying to pick up one of his McDonald’s orders that had fallen to the ground.

The shocking video follows a spate of crimes targeting food delivery drivers in Queensland and Victoria.

Victoria Police say food delivery vehicles are responsible for a significant percentage of carjackings.

“The latest data from the Crime Statistics Agency shows there were 359 carjackings recorded in Victoria in the 12 months to March 2024,” a spokesperson said.

“Of these attempts, 126, or 35.1%, failed.

“With over five million vehicles registered in Victoria and hundreds of millions of journeys on Victorian roads each year, your chances of being the victim of a carjacking are high.”

Uber offers all of its drivers support, including having a team that handles criminal incidents 24 hours a day, as well as offering counseling to its drivers.
