BOSQUE COUNTY, Texas (FOX 44) – Six undocumented immigrants have been arrested in Bosque County.

A Bosque County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop Tuesday night on a vehicle occupied by several Hispanic males. After the traffic stop, the deputy contacted an ICE agent from the Waco office and provided information about the individuals.

The sheriff’s office was notified Wednesday that two of the individuals were undocumented immigrants wanted on federal felony warrants.

Sheriff Trace Hendricks said undercover ICE agents were dispatched to Bosque County to further investigate and apprehend the suspects, as well as identify a number of other suspected illegal immigrants staying at a Meridian motel.

ICE contacted the Bosque County deputy and requested assistance in arresting a group of undocumented immigrants from the motel, according to Sheriff Hendricks.

ICE agents, sheriff’s deputies and Meridian police officers converged on the American Inn on Highway 6. Four rooms were searched, resulting in the arrest of six undocumented immigrants, each with existing federal warrants and/or pending criminal charges in other Texas jurisdictions.

Sheriff Hendricks said ICE retained custody of the suspects and took them back to a McLennan County detention center for processing.
