Copy/Transfer Messages from iPhone or Mac to New iPad without iCloud

I got a new iPad Air 13 today, it’s actually my first iPad and it will replace my MBA m1.

I like to keep my message history and I don’t use iCloud.
How do I recover historical messages from my iPhone or Mac to my iPad?
I could copy them from one Mac to another via Finder, but I’m not sure if you can do that with iPadOS…

A Google search showed that I might be able to do this with Imazing…
