Harvey Dominy, 21, a holidaymaker from Benidorm found dead in his room

A 21-year-old holidaymaker has been found dead in his hotel room in Benidorm, Spain, an inquest has heard.

Harvey Dominy, from Merthyr Tydfil, was discovered on the floor of his bedroom on the evening of July 16 in the popular holiday destination.

The Pontypridd hearing heard how emergency services were called and how Mr Dominy was pronounced dead.

The inquest was adjourned and an investigation into the cause of death is continuing.

Mr Dominy is believed to have died between 9pm and 10.30pm.

An autopsy was performed but did not provide a provisional cause of death.

Deputy Coroner Kerrie Burge adjourned the inquest pending further information from the Spanish authorities.

In tribute to Mr. Dominy, friends gathered this weekend for a balloon release near his home.

Close friend Liam Greenaway expressed his grief on social media, saying: “I honestly don’t know what to say, I honestly lost a part of me, my right arm, you were my brother.

“You were so special to everyone, but most importantly to me, honestly, you were the best boy ever, my brother.”

Merthyr Tydfil’s Kooler nightclub also paid tribute to Harvey, encouraging revellers to toast his memory by playing ‘Forever Young’ last weekend.

The venue shared a post that read: “We at Kooler Nightclub are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Harvey Dominy.

“His boundless energy and unwavering support brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

The investigation into the cause of Mr Dominy’s death continues.
