Melbourne defender Steven May taken to hospital after collision during loss to Western Bulldogs

Melbourne defender Steven May was taken to hospital on Friday night with a concerning injury during the Demons’ disappointing loss to the Western Bulldogs.

May was subbed out at half-time following the collision with Bulldogs small forward Laitham Vandermeer.

While the incident at first did not appear to be serious, May was immediately in discomfort.

“You would have thought from looking at that (vision) it was Vandermeer who would have come off second best,” Seven commentator Abbey Holmes said.

“But you could just see there with Steven May… he was in a lot of pain straight after that incident.
