Taking to social media, Leah confirmed she had left Sky News for the rest of the summer.

Sharing a photo from the studio with her fans, she wrote: “That’s it for me for the summer.

“I am ever so grateful to all of you who have followed us – what a ride it has been.

“Stick with @SkyNews for all your breaking news needs. See you later.”

Leah, who previously presented BBC’s Newsround, has been hosting Sky News’ Breakfast show during Kay Burley’s absence.

One fan told her: “I watched Sky this morning and thought you were a lovely and professional presenter… Enjoy your break.”

A second wrote: “You looked GORGEOUS today Leah.”

“Having a fabulous and relaxing holiday, Leah. Enjoy,” said a third.

While a fourth commented: “Hello Leah, have a fabulous holiday.”

Meanwhile, a Sky News presenter previously revealed a huge shake-up of the schedule as a show was pulled from air.

Sarah-Jane Mee has announced that her show The UK Tonight has taken a summer break.

The show, which usually airs weekdays at 8 p.m., will not return to the schedule until September.
