Police arrest man days after alleged homicide in Laurentides region

MONTREAL — Police have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with an alleged homicide in the Laurentides region of Quebec.

MONTREAL — Police have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with an alleged homicide in the Laurentides region of Quebec.

Provincial police began investigating the case Wednesday after receiving reports of suspected gunshots in Saint-Lin-Laurentides around 3:30 p.m.

The victim, a 51-year-old man, died of his gunshot wounds in hospital later that day.

Police arrested the suspect in Saint-Lin-Laurentides, a community located about 70 kilometres north of Montreal, on Friday evening.

Quebec police spokesperson Elizabeth Marquis-Guy said the man is expected to appear in court via videoconference on Saturday.

She says the investigation is ongoing.
