Liam Gallagher breaks silence on Oasis ticket prices: ‘Shut up’

Liam Gallagher has broken his silence for the first time since thousands of Oasis fans were left angry and disappointed after he was dropped from the band’s long-awaited comeback tour.

The Britpop giants will reunite in 2025 for the first time since 2009 for a series of sold-out concerts in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin.

However, the band and Ticketmaster were heavily criticised when tickets went on sale on 31 August, after it was revealed that those originally listed at £135 had risen to £355 on the site. Some had queued for hours for the chance to get a ticket, only to have the price more than double.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched an investigation into Ticketmaster and how tickets were sold to fans. Meanwhile, an “invitation-only ticket sales strategy” has been developed for the two new Wembley shows “as a small step towards fixing the situation”.

So far, beyond a post announcing their collaboration with fashion brand Stone Island, Liam and Noel have remained silent on the controversy.

Liam, 51, in his rebellious way, responded to some of the anger in a typically explosive message on X/Twitter. The singer wrote on the morning of September 6: “OASIS are back you are welcome and I hear their attitude stinks good to know that something will never change LF**KING x.”

He didn’t stop there and continued to interact with the angry fans. One punter replied: “I didn’t expect them to rip off the fans as much as they did. It’s such a shame.”

Gallagher responded bluntly: “SHUT UP.”

Another asked him if he had any spare notes, to which he jokingly replied: “A lot of crap, but they’re really expensive, £100,000, just on your knees.”

A third politely asked him how he felt. In a typically arrogant response, the Manchester icon said: “I’m SATISFIED, just kidding, SATISFIED AS F***, I told you we’d get back together one day.”

It comes just days after Liam was criticised for a resurfaced tweet in which he blasted his brother for expensive tickets to see his US tour in 2017. At the time, he wrote: “$350 to see rkid in the US what a load of crap when will this all stop like you LG x.”
