Law enforcement on scene of 'serious incident' in Longview

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) – Gregg County Sheriff’s Office is at the scene of an incident on Gilmer Road.

The response is in the 5100 block of Gilmer Road, which is at a church, though it is not yet clear whether the incident had any relationship to the church at all. The focus of the investigation appears to be a vehicle in a parking lot, as seen in the photo below.

According to Chief Deputy Craig Harrington, the scene is there due to a “serious incident.”

Texas Rangers are also at the scene, but Harrington said this is not an officer-involved shooting. He said that the public is not in any danger as a result of this incident. He said that the Longview Fire Department is also at the scene.

Our reporter at the scene said that a hearse has pulled up at the location tonight.
