Dana White clarifies Conor McGregor’s next opponent amid uncertainty

Dana White has provided some clarity regarding the potential opponent for Conor McGregor’s highly anticipated return to the octagon.

The Irish fighter’s return was thrown into doubt last week after it was revealed his long-awaited fight with rival Michael Chandler would no longer take place.

Chandler opted to forgo the match, instead choosing to face former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in a rematch scheduled for November.

With Chandler’s decision, McGregor’s return to the UFC is now uncertain, leaving fans to speculate on his next opponent.

UFC president Dana White stressed that no opponent will be confirmed until McGregor’s return date is finalized.

Asked if the outcome of the Oliveira vs. Chandler fight would determine McGregor’s next opponent, White said: “That will be determined when Conor comes back, who his opponent is. When Conor is ready and he comes back.”
