Tesla catches fire in flooded garage in Pinellas County – NBC 6 South Florida

Shocking video shows the moment a Tesla caught fire in a Pinellas County garage that was flooded by Hurricane Helene.

Pinellas County government posted the surveillance video on Facebook Saturday to warn electric vehicle owners of the risk.

In the video, an explosion is heard before flames become visible.

As residents return to their homes, Pinellas County government urges homeowners not to charge, drive or store electric vehicles in their home or garage and to keep electric vehicles or e-bikes away from any other combustible materials.

They also ask owners to have the vehicle towed to a dealership for inspection.

It is unknown if anyone was injured or if they were home at the time of this incident.
