There are the rich and then there is the enrichment of the Forbes list of the richest people.

Forbes recently released its list of the 400 richest people in America in 2024 and 10 of these billionaires are from Georgia. These people have made their fortunes in various industries, including tech start-ups, fast food companies, and even pest control.

Here’s a look at the individuals from the Peach State who made the list and how they made their fortune.

The Cathy family

Leading the pack, all ranked No. 91, is the trio behind Chick-Fil-A: brothers Cathy, Bubba, 70, and Dan, 71, and their sister, Trudy Cathy White, 68.

Each of these people has an impressive net worth of $10.6 billion.

Arthur White

At No. 122 is Arthur Blank, 82, who co-founded Home Depot. Blank is worth $8.9 billion. Blank is well known not only for his success in retail, but also as president of the Atlanta Falcons.

John Brown

Ranked No. 150, John Brown, 90, is worth $7.8 billion for his work with a medical device and software company called Stryker Corp.

Gary Rollins

At No. 179 is Gary Rollins, 80, who controls Orkin, North America’s largest pest control company by revenue, giving him a net worth of $6.8 billion.

Jim Kennedy

At No. 191 is Jim Kennedy, 76, with a net worth of $6.6 billion, who served as chairman of Cox Enterprises from 2008 to 2021.

Dan Kurzius

Ranked No. 230, Dan Kurzius, 52, co-founded Mailchimp in 2001 and is worth $5.7 billion.

Ben Châtaigne

Ranked #256, Ben Chestnut, 50, also co-founded Mailchimp with Kurzius. Chestnut is worth $5.1 billion.

Neil Aronson

Ranked #329, Neal Aronson, 59, is the founder of Roark Capital, which owns 30,000 Jimmy John’s, Arby’s, Sonic and Subway sandwich shops. Aronson is worth $4.1 billion.
