The Weeknd’s concert in Melbourne interrupted.

The Weeknd’s Melbourne concert took an unexpected turn Saturday night when a stage invader attacked the singer in the middle of his performance.

The 34-year-old Canadian superstar had been in his set for about an hour when a fan, known as the “Pyjama Man,” came on stage to try to hug him.

The footage shows The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, stepping back before security quickly intervenes and escorts the individual off stage.

Despite the disruptions, he continued his show without further incident.

“Pyjama Man,” dressed in red shorts and a red T-shirt emblazoned with the Ukrainian flag with the word “free,” later posted footage of the incident on Instagram, calling himself a “trolling CEO.” and boasting, “It was cool chatting with you on stage.”

However, the prankster faced backlash from the singer’s fans, with one commenter calling the stunt “cringe” and highlighting the backlash with a “Cringe Button” comment.

Backlash against him continued to flood his Instagram after he invaded the stage at the concert.

Fans expressed their outrage, with one user commenting: “I’m so stunned that this is what someone is doing specifically to attract negative attention on social media.”

Another bluntly advised: “Get a job,” while a third repeated: “Bruh, get a job.”

Several other comments were equally critical, with one user advising “Seek help” and another adding: “You suck bro.”

One fan highlighted The Weeknd’s discomfort, writing: “He grimaced when you ran, that wasn’t cool bro. It’s still pretty amazing you made it up there.”
