Ex-PCSO accused of stabbing herself pleads not guilty

A former PCSO has pleaded not guilty to fraud and two other crimes after allegedly stabbing herself to seek compensation.

Olivia Morphew, 25, allegedly stabbed herself and made a claim for compensation for her injuries, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said.

She pleaded not guilty at Southwark Crown Court to charges of perverting the course of justice, fraud and carrying a knife in a public place.

Surrey Police said the charges related to an allegation of assault reported on June 21, 2022.

The police watchdog said it began investigating following a referral from the Surrey force in July 2022, regarding an incident in Esher where PCSO Morphew reported being stabbed.

The Elmbridge-based PCSO resigned in September 2022 pending IOPC investigations, the watchdog said.

A Surrey Police spokesperson previously said that three teenagers faced no further action after initially being arrested in connection with the incident.

The trial date has been set for December 2026.
