This Indian company announces 9-day ‘reset and recharge’ break for its employees

In a world where most corporate employees find themselves overworked and undervalued, e-commerce platform Meesho has declared a 9-day break to “reset and recharge” for its employees following its successful sale in 2024. October to November 3, employees will be free from calls, messages and work meetings. The initiative generated a discussion about work culture on social media. According to a post on LinkedIn, the initiative is the 4th consecutive break offered by the company this year. Sharing the update, the company wrote: “No laptops, Slack messages, emails, meetings or stand-up calls, nothing work related for 9 days. We are entering our fourth consecutive company-wide “reset and recharge” interval, from October 26th to November 3rd.

The post further mentioned that the break is a reward for employees after successful sales. This would help rejuvenate them for the coming year. They added: “After the efforts made this year and our successful Mega Blockbuster Sale, it’s time to fully disconnect and focus on ourselves. This break is to recharge our minds and bodies for a renewed and energized start to the year ahead.”
