Jolie Apartments catch fire again, causing firefighter injuries

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – After a year of controversy, the empty Jolie Apartments caught fire again.

On October 11 at 5:25 a.m., the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) responded to a fire at The Jolie Apartments on Quail Creek near Shreveport Barksdale Highway. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the apartments had caught fire again. Fires were reported at the site several times throughout the year, which was fraught with controversy.

SFD brought the fire under control after an hour.

A firefighter reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries from falling debris while battling the flames.

The apartments were forced to close after SWEPCO and the Shreveport Water and Sewer Department shut off utilities due to unpaid bills.

Some of the fires at the site during 2024 were reportedly arson.
