Donald Trump makes the pettiest, most jealous complaint about Barack Obama

Obama won in 2009 “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”, according to the Nobel Prize website.

At a campaign stop in Detroit, the Republican candidate grumbled about the alleged disingenuousness, while also saying he was not “politicizing” the honor.

He praised the Abraham Accords reached during his administration to normalize relations between Israel and some Arab nations. Then he diverted to his complaint of jealousy.

“If I had been called Obama, the Nobel Prize would have been given to me in 10 seconds,” he said. “He won the Nobel Prize. He didn’t even know why the hell he bought it. Remember, he was elected. Well, me too. He was elected and they announced that he would receive the Nobel Prize. … He won the Nobel Prize for doing nothing, for being elected, but I was also elected.”

Trump called the deal “unprecedented” and suggested he should have received the prestigious award for it.

“I’m just saying if it was anyone else, liberal, Democrat, they would have had it before the damn thing was even signed,” he said.

“I’m not making politics about this,” he added. “I’m just saying there’s a lot of injustice in this world.”
