Windham County Man Faces Felony DUI Charge After Boat Launching Incident in Putney

PUTNEY — A Windham County man was arrested on felony DUI charges after he was found slumped over the steering wheel in a boat launch in Putney, authorities said.

The Windham County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies, along with Putney Fire and Rescue, responded to a call at approximately 9:55 a.m. on September 23 at the boat launch on Putney Landing Road.

Trampas W. Farrell, 54, of Westminster, was discovered in a red passenger car, under the influence of alcohol.

According to Deputy Richard Levesque, this incident marked Farrell’s third DUI offense, elevating the charge to a felony.

Farrell was taken to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing.

He was later summoned to appear in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on September 24 at 12:30 p.m.
