Whether it’s the amazing stealth mechanics, the realistic gameplay, or the deep story, everyone is in love with it. But what if you are one of the players who has already finished everything? Well, you’re not done. Read on as we list the best games like The Last of Us that you should try.

1. God of War Ragnarok

I’m sorry, but I could absolutely not start a list of games like The Last of Us without mentioning one of the best storytelling games of all time. Released as the long-awaited successor to GOW 2018, Ragnarok continues the ever-dangerous journey of Kratos and Atreus as they prepare for the times to come.

God of War Ragnarok’s gameplay follows the same path as its older brother, while also receiving a fresh coat of paint. As the father-son duo work to stop Odin’s plans, we see a strong bond turn into an eternal one, with many difficult choices along the way. Sprinkle in a good dose of combat and gaming knowledge and you’re all set.

2. A Plague Tale: Innocence

While I typically recommend The Requiem, gamers who want titles like The Last of Us are better off starting with the part that started it all. A Plague Tale Innocence centers on Amicia and Hugo, a pair of siblings caught right in the middle of the Black Death in 14th century France.

Innocence does an excellent job of weaving an incredible narrative as Amicia does everything she can to protect Hugo from the deadly rats everywhere. The game has a solid cast of recurring characters that leave a lasting impact on the story. Once you finish the first part, I suggest moving on to A Plague Tale Requiem to end this incredible journey.

3. Resident Evil 4 remake

Any survival gamer worth their salt has played the original RE4. Well, the relatively new version of Resident Evil 4 has remade the game from the ground up with terrifying visuals, improved gameplay and, of course, a deep storyline. RE4 Remake revolves around Leon S. Kennedya special agent sent to rescue Ashley, daughter of the President of the United States, from the Los Illuminados cult.

As Leon and Ashley advance through the cursed village of Valdelobos, the pair face hordes of undead bent on their complete and utter destruction. RE4 Remake takes players through the same emotional turmoil as TLOU. Combine that with excellent gunfights and lots of blood and you have one of the best games like The Last of Us.

4. Days gone by

Although Days Gone has been criticized for its over-the-top voice acting, it comes very close to one of the best games like The Last of Us. Despite the fact that Deacon Saint JohnThe game’s protagonist isn’t paired up with another character, he’s smack dab in the middle of a zombie apocalypse that has taken over the world.

Along with a captivating story that makes you identify with John’s struggles, Days Gone features loose yet fluid mechanics with an action-packed shooting gallery. One of the best parts of the game for me was the horde system; a mechanic that had me crawling in all directions to avoid zombies. There’s no doubt that once you finish Days Gone, you’ll be bragging about it to your friends too. Try this classic.

5. Dying Light

Even though Dying Light 2 is now available, I have a soft spot for the first version. In addition to bringing one of the most insane parkour mechanics in a game, Dying Light 1 is an incredible and horrifying story of Kyle Cranea GRE agent has entered the depths of the zombie-infested city of Harran in search of a cure. While there, he himself became infected and now has even less time.

Dying Light 1 has a healthy variety of weapons, but the melee mechanics are where it’s at. Players must create weapons and manage their durability while managing all types of threats. The stealth action, the captivating story, and the metaphorical fire and brimstone element of it all are what makes Dying Light one of the best games like The Last of Us.

Long known as one of the best survival horror games, the Silent Hill franchise has been enjoyed by gamers around the world for years. The latest Silent Hill 2 Remake brings back the horror of the sequel in a new light. The story focuses on James, a man searching for his missing wife in the horrific town of Silent Hill.

The Remake brings the same amount of horror and blood, but amplifies it with improved visuals and sound. In addition to Ray Tracing and technical improvements, Silent Hill 2 Remake features larger environments, a much better combat loop, and even a new over-the-shoulder camera system. If you’re the type of gamer who loves a deep story about a couple trying to find each other and horrible monsters thrown into the mix, you’ll find that Silent Hill 2 is one of the best games like The Last of Us.

7. Dishonored

Even though Dishonored doesn’t exactly deal with zombies, I’m making it one of the best games like The Last of Us due to its excellent father-daughter dynamic amid the Bubonic Plague. You are Corvo Attanothe royal protector of the Empress of the Islands. When the Empress is killed and her daughter kidnapped, Corvo must go on a mission and seek revenge.

In addition to bringing a fluid movement system and bloody combat, Dishonored adds to the mix by imbuing Corvo with magical powers that help you on your journey. Reaching the game’s multiple endings is as satisfying as Last of Us and will leave you ready for Dishonored 2 when you’re done.

8. Alien: Isolation

One of The Last of Us’ standout mechanics continues to be its stealth system. As Joel and Ellie move through various environments, players must be extremely careful not to be spotted by enemies. Well, Alien: Isolation has that formula, but kicks it up three notches. The game focuses on Amanda Ripleyan astronaut on a mission in search of her missing mother.

Before she can begin, however, Ripley finds herself trapped on Sevastopol, a ship infested by the horrific alien creature.
