‘We had a good friendship’

ROOSEVELT, Utah (KSL) – A Utah man whose wife was found dead was shocked when police identified the main suspects. He says they are the couple’s neighbor and his son, who he considered friends.

Kimberly Hyde, 60, disappeared last Monday afternoon in Roosevelt. Investigators say his body was found the next day inside a car registered in his name.

Police identified two suspects on Tuesday: Henry Resuera and a juvenile suspect. The victim’s husband, Michael Hyde, says the minor is Resuera’s son and that the two were neighbors of the Hydes.

The minor was taken into custody and Resuera is believed to be out of the country. Police are working with the FBI to locate him and say he will face charges ranging from aggravated murder to robbery.

Michael Hyde says he and his wife took Resuera and his family to dinner and to church.

“We had a good friendship, I thought, and it was a real shock,” Hyde said. “I was disappointed to learn that one of his sons is also involved and in custody.”

The Hydes were married for 18 years.

“(It’s) hard right now to be here alone,” Michael Hyde said. “It’s goodbye for now, but not forever, and it helps me keep going.”

He says he hopes Resuera faces justice for his wife’s murder.

“Everything was taken away,” he said. “It’s a sad thing.”
