Cong MLA Jandel caught abusing Lord Shiva on tape, later says it was doctored

Congress lawmaker Babu Jandel has courted controversy following an alleged video that showed him using abusive language towards Lord Shiva.

The video was shared by senior BJP leader Narendra Saluja on his X account and was later circulated in different plant forms by netizens.

Saluja said Congress leaders have this mindset and State Congress president Jitu Patwari is not worried about it.

However, when this video gained attention on social media, Jandel came out with a clarification, stating that the video was doctored.

In the viral video, it was seen that Congress MLA Babu Jandel used abusive language while invoking the name of Lord Shiva.

Saluja criticized the character of Congress leaders, alleging that he was disrespecting Lord Bholenath while inebriated. His post incited public outrage against the MLA. He further added that Jandel had earlier mentioned that he would blacken his face after the election results, but now the public can do so before the elections due to his controversial video, Saluja added.

In response to the controversy, MLA Babu Jandel came forward and clarified over the phone that Lord Bholenath is also his deity. He stated that he could never think of making such comments about Lord Bholenath. Jandel then accused Ramnivas Rawat’s associates of editing and circulating the video to defame him.

This incident reignited debates over Jandel’s controversial statements and political conduct, raising concerns about the impact on his party ahead of the next elections.

After the video went viral, All India Hindu Mahasabha burnt an effigy of Jandel outside a Shiva temple in Daulatganj of Gwalior on Thursday afternoon. “Jandel Murdabad”, the angry protesters raised slogans and launched spectacles against the effigy.

They demanded an apology from the Congress MLA.

Meanwhile, the BJP in Bhopal submitted a memorandum to the Police Commissioner’s office demanding registration of an FIR against Jandel.

The BJP delegation addressed to the DGP said that Congress MLA Babu Singh Jandel deliberately and carefully hurt the religious sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Shiva along with the entire feminine power of the Hindu religion.

The BJP delegation said in the memorandum that millions of mothers and sisters of the Hindu religion observe fast, worship and praise Lord Shankar. Babu Singh Jandel’s character has also been reprehensible towards women in the past.
