Tottenham tempted to cash in on £60m-rated star Real Madrid are targeting

Tottenham would consider selling Real Madrid target Pedro Porro if offers of around £60m were put forward, and whether a move is made will depend on what happens at Liverpool, according to reports.

Real Madrid intends to sign right-backs and central defenders in 2025. By AtléticoLiverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is a top target for the right-back position and the LaLiga giants hope to sign the 26-year-old as a free agent. Alexander-Arnold’s contract expires next summer, although Liverpool hope to secure a long-term extension.

If Liverpool manage to keep Alexander-Arnold in place, Real Madrid will simply turn to an alternative. According to the latest news from Give me sportJeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen) is on the radar, as is Tottenham ace Pedro Porro.

And alarming news for Spurs fans, GMS claims Tottenham would be surprisingly open to selling the right-back if Real Madrid made an offer in the region of £60m.

It has been clarified that Spurs will in no way force Porro’s departure. However, given he was signed for £39 million, a sale for £60 million could be considered a “smart move” within the club.

Of course, any such move for Porro would only happen if Real Madrid were unable to lure Alexander-Arnold to the Bernabeu.

As such, all eyes in north London will be on the progress of Liverpool’s contract negotiations with Alexander-Arnold.

Pedro Porro flirts with Real Madrid

A previous report from Caught out of play delivered a similar story by claiming that an offer of around £55m could be enough to get Tottenham to the negotiating table.

Furthermore, Porro is well aware of Real Madrid’s interest and has done little to dissuade Carlo Ancelotti’s team from taking action.

“Of course I’m proud of these links (to Real Madrid), it means I’m doing things well,” Porro said.. “If it happens one day, it happens. Now I’m totally focused on my club, Tottenham.”

Real Madrid’s search for a new right-back intensified after the loss of Dani Carvajal to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The club responded by extending the long-time star’s contract until 2026. But as he is 32, recovering from a serious knee injury and Real Madrid are seeking a high-profile signing for his position, there is no guarantee that Carvajal will will be the starter returned to good form at the end of 2024.
