Rosanna Pansino claims she found “disgusting” mold on Lunchly meal

Rosanna Pansino said she discovered moldy cheese when opening a Lunchly meal for a YouTube video, despite claiming it was “still 2 months away from the expiration date.”

Pansino was filming a YouTube video posted on Oct. 20 in which she showed her opening a meal and allegedly making the discovery. She labeled it “disgusting” and made a series of posts on her Twitter/X account:

“I was filming a video comparing Lunchables to Lunchly and was shocked when I opened ‘The Pizza’ Lunchly. The cheese had MOLD! The expiration date was still 2 months away! I checked online and found at least a dozen other people posting that their Lunchly’s were moldy too.”

Near the end of the YouTube video, she clarified that only one of the Lunchly products she tested had mold. She also noted that the defective item did not have the adhesive sealant around the cheese, which was present in the other products.

“This is really worrying, as there is no way they didn’t do tests to find out how long it lasted on the shelf and in the fridge after transport to stores, as if this needed to be investigated,” commented one user.

“It turns out that DanTDM was actually right about this. This is disgusting! One added: “What a safe product to market to children,” another jokingly responded.

Some claimed it was “fake” and “limited”, while another stated: “I would believe that, but it’s you. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was intentional.”

The latter refers to Pansino’s history of criticizing MrBeast, such as accusing him of editing her into the top three in his Creator Games 3 video, to which she later apologized and deleted her tweets, admitting that she should have addressed the particular subject. Despite this, she continued to criticize him frequently.

The YouTube video was also filmed with former MrBeast employees, DogPack404 and Jake Weddle, who made workplace allegations against their former employer.

“I did not fake this video. We bought this Lunchly at the store months before the expiration date and had it in our fridge within 20 minutes,” she responded via a YouTube comment.

Other Lunchly Mold Claims

This wasn’t the first time consumers claimed they found mold in Lunchly meals. Several TikTok users uploaded videos to the platform claiming that the product’s cheese contained mold.

Five days earlier, user au38a posted a clip claiming that his cheese was also moldy in the Pizza Lunchly version. “I like my cheese moldy,” they captioned the post, which has garnered more than 8 million views.

Lunchly’s backlash story

Lunchly has faced several waves of backlash since it was first announced. Competitor Lunchables combines MrBeast’s Feastables chocolate, Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime hydration drink, with a mix of three lunch options – Turkey, Pizza and Nachos.

Lunch products

Lunchly launched with three different meal versions.

Many have criticized the YouTuber’s new lunchtime products because of the benefits for his customers. Several have criticized their health benefits, claiming they are “full of GMO rubbish and seed oils.”

Paul responded by highlighting statistics, comparing Lunchly to competitor Lunchables, noting that many Lunchly meals contain fewer calories and sugar while offering more electrolytes.

Several creators also criticized the product, most notably DanTDM, who called it “selling crap to kids who don’t know any better” in exchange for monetary gains. This has since caused KSI to constantly fire back at the YouTube star over his comments.

As of this writing, neither Lunchly, MrBeast, Logan Paul, and KSI have responded to the moldy cheese situation allegedly found inside.
